What do I need to take care of in which week?

During your pregnancy, there are a few things that you will need to arrange. We have summarised this into a timeline throughout your pregnancy.

To do

  • Before the pregnancy

Start taking folic acid, preferably 3 months, but at least 1 month before pregnancy and stop using contraception.

  • Positive pregnancy test

Plan a non-binding introduction to Femme Amsterdam and provided you have not yet started; start taking folic acid!

  • Before 14 weeks

Arrange maternity care and childcare (the sooner the better)

  • Before 24 weeks

Is your employer involved and request leave. Are you an independent entrepreneur? Then you can apply for a ZEZ benefit or have your accountant arrange it.

  • Before 30 weeks

Sign up for information evenings at Femme about childbirth, breastfeeding and the period with a baby.

  • Before 35 weeks

Do you have a maternity package at home? And have you had an intake interview with maternity care?

If you want, you can now also start with acupuncture treatments in preparation for your birth (because of a busy schedule you can already book two weeks in advance with Daniela).

  • Before 37 weeks

Make sure your bed is on bobbins. You can order these at the home care store. Another option is beer crates.

  • General during pregnancy

It is important that you arrange the recognition of the child properly if you are not married and do not have a registered partner. Preferably before 25 weeks, but in any case before birth.
